Dewhurst Torevell Director Martyn Torevell was today publicly recognised as a North West cultural champion by Arts& Business, a national not-for-profit arts agency.

Arts & Business describe Cultural Champions as individuals from the wider public or business community who have shown outstanding support and commitment to an arts or cultural organisation in their local community and The Manchester Art Gallery nominated Martyn because of the support shown by him and Dewhurst Torevell over the years.

Dewhurst Torevell is one of the longest standing members of Manchester Art Gallery’s Corporate Members scheme, sponsoring key exhibitions such as Turner: The Late Seascapes.  More recently Martyn has taken a personal interest in donating to and supporting a new fundraising initiative which seeks to raise funds from individuals with an interest in collecting contemporary art.

Martyn was publicly acknowledged at a reception given last Friday at Tatton Park by Arts & Business and the Chancellor of the Exchequer and MP for Tatton, George Osborne.
